  • Soccer falls to California in quarterfinal matchup

      One goal is all it would take to end the Crimson Hawks’ season, as they fell to California 1-0 Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament.  Janelle McCann scored Cal U’s lone goal at the 24:18 minute mark with an assist from Jordan Gray.



  • Soccer clinches PSAC Tournament with tie at Millersville

      IUP’s Soccer team tied with Millersville Wednesday to secure the eighth spot in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament.  Both teams fought hard as the game went into double overtime, with a total of 110 minutes of play, but neither team managed to score a single goal.


  • Soccer ends in 1-1 draw in Kutztown

      The Crimson Hawks took on Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-leading Kutztown Saturday and came away with a 1-1 tie.  For the first half of the game neither team scored a goal and the Hawks failed to record a shot on goal. However, both teams received two yellow cards each.


  • Women’s soccer falls to Edinboro

      The women’s soccer team fell Saturday to Edinboro in a second half battle with the Fighting Scots.  Edinboro scored their first goal at the 59:30 minute mark when Liz Debo shot the ball through the crowd of IUP defenders and into the net after an assist from teammate Jenna Madison.


  • First half proves key in soccer’s win over Mansfield

      In the game against Mansfield University on Tuesday, IUP’s women’s soccer team won 3-0 with all of the goals being scored in the first half.  At the 11:44 minute mark, IUP scored its first goal. Brittney Kuhns took the ball up the field after a pass from Kelsey Fisher.


  • Women’s soccer falls to Gannon

    The Crimson Hawks fell to Gannon University Saturday 1-0. The first half of the game was slow-moving with both teams struggling to maintain possession and get a shot at the net. It was a constant back and forth between strikers and defenders. Before the end of the first half IUP managed to take two shots, and so did Gannon.


  • Soccer team has high hopes for season

      The IUP women’s soccer team recently turned a rocky start into a four-game winning streak, and confidence could never be higher. After three wins and a loss, the team hit a rough spot in the form of two ties and two losses across four away games. Returning to IUP gave them the boost they needed, winning three home games and an away game.

  • Strong start propels Crimson Hawks to victory over Mercyhurst

      IUP’s Crimson Hawks traveled to Erie Wednesday to play against Mercyhurst’s Lakers. The Crimson Hawks won the game 2-1 moving up to 7-3-2, 4-3-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The Crimson Hawks scored both of their goals in the first half of the game.


  • IUP upsets East Stroudsburg

      The Crimson Hawks took on the 16th-ranked East Stroudsburg University Warriors Friday, coming away with a 2-1 victory.  Due to East Stroudsburg’s late arrival, the game was delayed 25 minutes. Once the game started, it was a head-to-head battle between the two teams of who would have possession and control over the ball.

  • Crimson Hawks dominate in victory over PSAC rival Bloomsburg

      The Crimson Hawks took on PSAC rival Bloomsburg Saturday at home, finishing the game with a 5-2 victory.  At the 1:07 minute mark Brooke Mohney scored the first goal of the game. Mohney kicked and the ball rolled past IUP’s goalie, Mara Hricik.


  • Soccer dominates Lock Haven

      Saturday’s gloomy weather didn’t stop IUP’s women’s soccer team from dominating their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival Lock Haven 6-1 at home.  Sophomore Brittney Kuhns led the team’s scoring, notching two goals and an assist in IUP’s first PSAC win.


  • Women’s soccer shutout at Slippery Rock

      The Crimson Hawks fell 2-0 to their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival, Slippery Rock, Wednesday.  The Hawks and the Rock were tied up at 0-0 for the first half of the game.  “Most of the time the game was in our favor and we were in control of the game the whole time,” Head Coach Adel Heder said.

    Women’s soccer defeats Wheeling Jesuit

      The women’s soccer team defeated the Wheeling Jesuit Falcons in their home opener Saturday, 2-0.   For most of the first half, IUP played offense, keeping the ball in Falcon territory.  Junior Tonya Fabian aggressively attacked the goal and had numerous near goals.


IUP loses in PSAC quarters, hopes for NCAA Tournament bid

The IUP women's soccer team must play the waiting game after its loss in the PSAC quarter finals to Edinboro Tuesday, 2-0.
