  • Stamp’s big night leads women past Mercyhurst in PSAC tournament first round

Despite a valiant effort by the Mercyhurst Lakers, the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks survived a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference first-round playoff scare, securing a 62-56 victory, Saturday, in the final seconds.  The Crimson Hawks struggled mightily from the field in the first half, going 8-of-35 (22 percent) from the field, including 0-of-9 from beyond the three-point line.

 offensively, fall to Edinboro

Looking to move into a two-way tie for second place with the Edinboro Fighting Scots in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West, the Crimson Hawks shot an abysmal 19.4 percent from the floor as they fell to the Fighting Scots, 57-45. Although Indiana University of Pennsylvania got a double-double from Zhane Brooks (ten points, 11 rebounds) and 18 points from the Lindsay Stamp, they weren’t able to overcome their struggles from the field.

The Crimson Hawks (18-6, 13-5) pulled away late in overtime to secure a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division win against rival California, Wednesday, 59-51, at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex.   Picking up their second straight win since falling at home to West division-leading Gannon, the Crimson Hawks seem to be getting used to playing physical, intense games.

  • Women’s basketball picks up road victory over Clarion

With the Crimson Hawks still shorthanded without the services of Sarah Pastorek, Leslie Stapleton and Amy Fairman, the team still seems to find ways to win. • Women fall just short in upset bid of No. 6 Gannon

What first looked like a potential upset turned out to be nothing more than a wasted opportunity for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania women’s basketball team. Holding a second half lead against the No. 6 ranked Gannon Golden Knights (21-2, 15-1), the Crimson Hawks (16-6, 11-5) were unable to finish the deal, falling 60-52, Wednesday at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex, to their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division rival.

  • Freshman Brooks stars in win over Lock Haven

Losing a star player to injury, especially one that is arguably the best player in program history, is usually crippling for a program.
