Local indoor football team hold open tryout in Indiana Saturday

For any college students interested in making a career in professional football the Johnstown Generals of the Ultimate Indoor Football League will be holding an open tryout from 9 a.m-noon Saturday at S&T Bank Arena at 497 East Pike Road.
Registration for the tryout is slated to begin at 8 a.m. There is a registration fee of $35. Players are encouraged to wear athletic gear, as only a T-shirt will be provided. Players will be tested in the 40-yard dash, the 20-yard shuttle and other various individual drills. There will be no tryouts for kickers, but if there are any interested in joining the Generals, they can call Head Coach Quenteen Robinson at (814)- 254-4379 for more information.
The Generals are attempting to fill 18 spots for their training camp roster and invite players to their minicamp Nov. 26-27, which will be in full pads.
In 2011, the Generals narrowly missed the UIFL playoffs and finished the season 6-8. The UIFL will field 16 teams in 2012.
