Spring break. Behave yourselves

Spring break. I'm not entirely certain that they're the magic words - "please and thank you" and "abracadabra" may be giving them a run for their money - but the idea of a week off is one that anyone could approve of. Personally, I'm looking forward to not thinking about school for a week, clearing my head, maybe finding a job. However, I'm also going to rain on the parade a little bit. Recently, IUP has been getting a lot of attention, but not for the right reasons. Between our star turn on "Campus PD" and the "I'm Shmacked" video, we haven't exactly looked like a quality school recently.
The problem is that we are a quality school. If you look at VCU in Richmond, Va., we stack up pretty well. We have an identical student-faculty ratio, fewer classes with more than 50 students and a higher six-year graduation rate. I'm sure you've heard of VCU: They went to the NCAA Final Four last year. IUP is that place where the helicopter crashed.
I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't have fun in college; that would be boring. However, I want you to remember that you represent IUP whether or not you like it. Have a good time, but do it responsibly, and try not to have too much evidence that could end up on YouTube.
It doesn't reflect well on you, and it doesn't reflect well on your education.
