P.O.I.Z modeling group will host the “Twisted Fantasy” fashion show at 7 p.m., Saturday in the HUB Ohio Room.

The doors for the show will open at 6 p.m., and tickets will be sold at the door for $5.

This will be P.O.I.Z’s third annual fashion show.

The show will be depicting different variations and styles of the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz.”

“The idea, ‘Twisted Fantasy,’ came about because we wanted to do something different and new,” said Toya Roberts (communications media), President of the organization. “The normal childhood fantasies will be twisted.”

According to Robinson, the purpose of the show is to “entertain the IUP student body,” directing the talents in the show to include modeling, acting, dance and “the ability to add a twist to the things people have seen over and over again.”

The clothes for the fashion show are created by P.O.I.Z designer Deneir Holland (psychology), who Robinson described as having a “creative mind.”

“I believe that the audience will get a show filled with excitement and suspense,” Holland said. “A show filled with beautiful fashion and spectacular choreography but it all has a twist to it, an out of the box twist.”

“When she [Holland] sees an item, she is able to add and subtract things to make it a masterpiece,” Robertson said.

According to IUP’s website, the mission of the P.O.I.Z modeling group is to inspire individuals to express their talents through modeling.

Each year they showcase a fashion show for the IUP community.

“Everyone in P.O.I.Z is so creative and smart,” Robertson said. “We brainstorm things that have never been done, and if they have been done we find ways to reinvent them.”
