Even though the Grammy -themed fashion show was delayed for about 35 minutes, it did not stop anyone from conquering the catwalk. The Ebony & Ivory Fashion Show, hosted by the Black Emphasis Committee, was held at the HUB Ohio Room Saturday.
The event was a part of BEC’S three-day weekend and celebration of their 24th annual fashion show.
The opening of the event consisted of acrobatic moves and a fierce attitude by Ms. Angelique, a
familiar face from last week’s Glitz and Glamour Drag Show.
The Damage Dolls were the first models to perform their segment, with a Bollywood theme and choreographed routines. Ending the first segment of the event was a crowd-pleasing runway skit and choreography called “Death of a Barbie.”
“‘Ladies with Poise’ conquered the runway. I am so proud of our models. I look forward to a bright and promising future [in general],” said Toya Robertson (freshman, College of Humanities and Social Sciences).
A raffle drawing was held during intermission. Prizes included a new generation iPod. Ms. Angelique encouraged more enthusiasm and interacted with the audience before the second part of the event began.
